Jindal School of Journalism and Communication

Jindal School of Journalism and Communication (JSJC) is envisioned as a world-class institution that offers opportunities for education, research and capacity building in media and communication studies.

Our graduates will become communication professionals equipped with critical thinking and leadership skills rooted on a global, interdisciplinary perspective. The real-world focus and interdisciplinary nature of the program prepares students for a variety of endeavors, with the opportunity to participate in a rigorous internship program from the very first semester. Over the first two years students train in the foundational areas of journalism and communication studies through core courses and electives from both the JSJC and other schools at JGU. Students also complete internships during each semester break. In the final year, students will write a thesis as an area for concentrated study. In other words, the final year thesis for the B.A. (Hons.) is a detailed work of substantial length and depth over a specialised subject, duly approved and advised by JSJC faculty.
We are a multidisciplinary school with a dynamic curriculum. Our faculty are among India’s best practitioners and scholars of journalism. They have reshaped our understanding of fields of study in their scholarship. Many have written books that are taught in schools across the country. We are supplemented by a superb group of adjuncts, who work at leading news outlets while teaching part-time for us.
Our students are pioneers. They create a rich, vibrant community. They come to us with curiosity, a passion for excellence, and a commitment not just to study but question the status quo-the underpinnings of good journalism.
