University of Madras

Madras University was established in 1857. The University offers courses at the postgraduate, PG diploma, diploma, and certificate level. Madras University is the mother of almost all the old Universities of southern India. The University area of jurisdiction has been confined to, however, 3 districts of Tamil Nadu in recent years. This is consequent to establishment of various universities in the State and demarcation of the university territories. This University has been growing from strength to strength while widening its teaching and research activities. Admissions are granted based on the entrance exam conducted by the university.

Library: Madras University Library was established in 1907 in the Connemara Public Library. The existing library building, built in Indo-British style was opened on 3rd September 1936. It is built with the pointed arches in granite, domes with octagonal base. The kiosks resemble the Islamic Architecture in India.

Placement Cell: A Career development and placement cell is available in the college. It is run by the college faculty. The faculty looks after entrepreneurship development activities among the students.
